Act 3 Questions

1. How does the Monster feel about Frankenstein and why? Who does he compare him to?

The monster feels that Frankenstein has betrayed him. And that he was only created as the only creature to never experience friendship or love. The monster feels thinks this because he looks horrid and because of how he seems people attack him at first sight. Not even thinking that the monster might even be kind or gentle. The monster refers Frankenstein as his god, because he's his creator.

2. Do you feel more sorry for Frankenstein or the Monster in Act 3?

I feel more sorry for the monster because no one understands him. He has no one to look up to,to love, or to care for. The monster never asked to look the way he does. He ran out of options to please and to be kind to people, but how could he be nice when no one is being that way to him...except Agathe since she was blind she had no way of making assumptions about him. That being said, her being the first to truly accept him.

3. How does Frankenstein feel about agreeing to make the Monster a wife?

Frankenstein is very insecure about the whole situation. Frankenstein has agreed to finish making the wife in 2 years. Him and the Monster agreed that if he (the monster) came sooner Frankenstein would immediately destroy it. But then Frankenstein would be creating 2 Monsters. One of them that killed Frankensteins younger brother.

Monster's Speech

All I wanted was to help, to love but the people do not understand.. Instead of loving me they have hatred for me and want rid of me. After some days of being hunted I started to think, what if they want me to be evil? I've been chased, barked at and shot.. With their many attempts of having me gone. What do they think? That I am going to harm them..? It would be the only reason of them treating me so cruelly. Running into the foreset I find a girl.. she cannot see me. As I explain to her of my purpose a man comes in and shoots me in the chest I run away from them. I now understand what they want me to be. If they want me to be evil and harm people, then I shall! My purpose now is to bring bad to anyone who comes across me...revenge... For all those who have punished me for my innocense. This is my creators fault! he made me this way. To look horrid that I scare anyone who catches a glimpse of my appalling face. Why should anyone be judged by the way they were born or created in my case. If they don't know me they should not make assumptions about me.

PEE paragraphs for Frankenstein characters.

Frankenstein

I think Frankenstein comes across as a very strange man, he seems to be keeping a lot of secrets...mysterious in other words. He's very alert to his surroundings, he hates having people invade his space, and will go to extreme lengths to keep his dark secret from leaking. I think this because, at first Frankenstein doesnt immediately tell Clerval what he is doing.(strange, mysterious)I also think Frankenstein is alert because in the book he says; "No!Don't touch it!" here's another quote; "From the dissecting room at the Univercity."This shows that he lies, because he didn't get it from the Univercity Frankenstein got the body parts from the graveyard.

Clerval

I think Clerval comes across as a intelligent person, he's also polite and well mannered. We can see this when Clerval offers to carry Elizabeths bags to the hotel across. He is also amazed easily and is curious.
I think he gets amazed easily because in a part of the book he says "Extraordinary!". I also think that he's polite because he says to Elizabeth, "mademoiselle...please, sit down."

Elizabeth

I think Elizabeth comes across as very caring, worried and polite. We can see all of these things by looking at these quotes: caring, "Victor! Whatever's the matter? What is it?" Polite, "I beg your pardon, sir." Worried,"I wrote to Victor and told him, but he never answers my letters."

Clerval's Diary

Dear diary,

After years of not seeing my old pal, Frankenstein I see he has gone mad. Collecting body parts from corpeses. Though fasinating I must say I am a bit worried about his obsession over creating life. I'm still trying to rest my thoughts on what had happened today... Frankenstein has created a monster! He says he was only trying to create a creater so beautiful like an angel and only serve for good, but the outcome was very unsettling, with a red glare upon his eyes, his worn out sickened face, and his lifelss charcol lips. When I tried to stop this before it was to late Frankenstein striked me with a chair.

A woman named Elizabeth cam to visit Frankenstein, but he was not there at the momment. So I kindly told her that there was a hotel across the street that she could stay in. Of course putting that in the conversation I had to offer to carry her luggage as curtacy. She was a very polite woman and not selfish at all for coming all that way from her town to give Frankenstein the news of his poorly ill father.

But again back to the monster Frankenstein had created, who knows what this creater is capable of... he could be just a mass of destruction only to harm those in his way. If only Frankenstein thought about the future and outcomes of this monste. The expirement was extremly interseting, only for the fact that again the monster... I can only hope of what will happen.

Kate Barlow's Diary

Dear Diary,

Oh Sam, how I miss you. I have kept my promise to make anyone who killed you regret it. They burnt the school house after all the fixes you made, It was not fair for them to kill you when I was the one who leaned in for that kiss. It should've been me that they should have killled... I wish so dearly that Trout Walker didn't save me from drowning, then we would've been together up in heaven.

Three days after your tragedy i came back and gave the sheriff that kiss that he wanted.Well.. now he got that kiss and something else, i slowly pulled the trigger I didn't feel sorry one bit. He deserved it. After that day i promised that i would make anyone who killed my beloved Sam that they would regret it, and that i would get the revenge that i rightfully deserve. After that I became an outlaw going by the name Kissin Kate I robbed banks and I robbed from innocent people, I will admitt that I'm not happy with myself for doing that. After 20 years i decided to come back to Green Lake what I saw was a sight that I wish I never saw, Green Lake was dry and no longer that beautiful place that once was.

I came across one man named Stanley Yelnats I robbed from him and i do feel quite ashamed for doing that I did not kill him though I left out in the desert. The reason I did not kill him was because he did not kill Sam.
